Have you lot given us a bad name or what?

Standard Audi A4 TDI 115 = 340 per year 14000 miles, driveway, business class 1 etc etc...

    +Sports suspension (30mm lowering) = +94
    +18" Alloys = + 70
    +Tuning = can't cover your car sir.

And this doesn't cover replacement like for like, only with standard parts...!

That was Admiral though, obviously good with standard cars, but not modified ones....

Going to have to have a look around before I commit to any mods, not going back to > 500 for insurance! [:x] [xx(]

    Cheers,

    Drew.

yup i have the same, really sweet deal on my grp 16 cabriolet, but put on wheels +90 / suspension +100 / exhaust etc... Silly money really.

I guess that is the benefit of owning those new cars like honda civic type r's which have all the mods already on them.

HIC were ok on the mods....but the base car was way to expensive with them because it's worth 8000 [:^(]

    796!!!

The chap on the phone said we only usually deal with cheapie old hot hatches not classy motors like your Audi [:D]

Best quote I've had is 608, 200 more than a standard car.

    Mods are going to cost...

    700 suspension, springs and fitting
    700 18" alloys
    300-500 tuning

    No change from 2000! [:s]

    Cheers,

    Drew.

Mate of mine wanted to fit big bumpers to his golf, until he rang elephant to ask them how much that would be and they said it'd cost him an extra 110 quid. And he's on that 10 month bonus builder already paying over a grand to insure his 1.6.

Wish he'd asked me for some advice on insurers!!

Don't go with big companies like them they rip you off no end. Try adrian flux, brentacre etc....

Adrian flux quoted me 950 for a renewel then dropped it 206 when i said i found cheaper quotes. Insurance is a complete rip off you need to spend a day phoning every company under the sun! [:x]

elephant are pants. quote maybe ok buttry to getth money out of them when you need a claim!!

I am with CIS (Cooperative) only company that was willing to give me an introductory NCD for a sub 30 yo with no track record.
Everyone else wanted 1200 for a 1.8 cavalier!

CIS were brilliant for me, gave me a good quote, didn't care about most mods then paid out the full value for my car when it was written off then let me keep what was left oevr, which was quite a lot [:D]

Admiral were the only people who would touch me with a modded car, 6 points, an accident that year, 28 earthly years old and no NCB left. All the local companies I rang (In N.I.) wanted to know what speed I got the 6 points for - then laughed in a friendly way and put the phone down.......

"oOo, yes please! I'd love to pay 5000+ for car insurance!"
