Ok, who or what has the most power out of a 1.8 8v engine.

What was done and how much money did that cost to do.

I know this has probably been asked loadz times, but nevermind [:D]

Most bhp? About 220bhp from an ex-Formula 3 race engine probably. Would you want to drive it on the road? No.

About 160bhp at the flywheel with head work, cam, exhaust, filter, manifold, and chip (if a PB or PF engine code). Maybe other mods that I've not mentioned...If you want loads of power these lot will say stick in a 2.0 16v. With my 1.8 8v I'm just sticking to filter exhaust and the chip as they're reletively cheap ;)

We're getting about 167bhp at the flywheel out of the 1.8 8v in the Racecar but like Gregs said it's completely unf**king drivable on the road. To get this we fitted (plus much more I can't remember):

    Srick 304 cam
    Srick followers
    Shortened valves
TSR Pack D head - plus some
Block taken out to exactly 1800cc (for regs) but with a greater than normal bore and a shorter stroke
    Bigger Injectors, race Coil.
    Home Made Ram-Air system
    Silly light flywheel

I'm sure thier are some people getting mid to high 170's, but again these ain't exactly the most reliable or easy to drive engine's in the world ( you're talking a complete rebuild every 2000ish miles)
