its all about power to weight my friends... 300bhp is only pub talk if its unreliable and your car weighs 1500kg!!! (200bhp per ton) a reliable 250bhp in a 1000kg car is 250bhp per ton -- leave the pub talk where it belongs and not on here lol
ok for the time being i am happy to run at lower power and get some more cash together and go for it, what sort of mileage are these lumps good for if well looked after?
It's not the pins it's the rods. 20mm rods are easier to get hold of from companies like IE and Scat etc. So it then goes from bigger turbo, rods, valves, valve springs to include pistons if you've only got 19mm gudgeon pins at the minute
I thought the 20mm rods were a little bit 'chunkier' and less prone to bending - the 19mm ones having a thinner 'neck'?
Gudgeon pins (or wrist pins in the US) don't bend - it's the rods. Most uprated rods use 20mm pins, so if you currently run 19mm pins and pistons, you'll need to swap your pistons as well.
