I always hear people sl*gging off certain ECU's, because the car its on doesn't make the same power as another car.

I.e. on motec youll get better results than with emerald, or DTA maybe.

But would somone actually explain what differs beetween the ECU that would make one possible of creating more power than the other ?

It's all down to the mapping, you could have a monkey mapping standard management, (which i'd agree is better than Emerald) or, dave walker mappping his own emerald system... Which ones going to be better?

TSR said that they had so many probs
with Emerald, that they switched to supplying
    Motech units with their conversions.
Local tuning Co Owen Developments have pointed
more towards a coil pack problem.
Dubsport originally mapped the car. The car has
gone to Owen's 2day, will get the verdict
    later in the week [:^(]
Probably gonna cost a few quid!
Otherwise it's spot on, apart from the
    lack of traction!! :p

why not see about getting the emerald mapped by emerald?

if you want to bin the emerald i would happily buy it off you for a pittance while you spend on a new EMS

but you would find you'll be happier and save money with your emerald mapped well by someone who knows the system

i'm not sure if it is the ecu yet, that's the worse case scenario. Dubsport said i had about 200 bhp.[IMG]

i'm well chuffed with my motec ecu,

i think it'd be wise to try and get your system re-mapped first tho before spendin getting it swapped over.

    i was chuffed with mine,

    314bhp, 357lb/ft (i'm on K04 tho)
