well, this is what i've read on a 'ringers site....

GVK knows all about hochiechen in the wet ;)

from my one lap schwedenkreuz stood out as a scary corner....ad forst appears to be not bad, as long as you know its coming. but thats just my opinion form limited experience.

Def not the place to go batsh1t, that's 4 sure. Best treated as a fast road rather than a track for fun vs self-preservation...!Simply cannot afford to crash.

Nearest I got to an off was running wide at Brunchen 2 -could feel the crowd's eyes staring, waiting for some action!

well, if you want my theory here goes....sure some of you will be like wtf...

i approached it last year, and will this year, like a back road i don't know....so i drive as close to the point of the car starting to slide as i can but without actually sliding, so if i make a misjudgement the car will slide a bit, but i can recover it and still stay on the road. where as on a UK track i drive each corner sliding loads with no room for error and if i make an error i go off! see the difference?

    works for me anyway.

    In the 4 trips I've done I've..

Locked up going down to Aremberg in the wet (2002)

Lifted off (silly boy) and went round Hocheichen completly sideways in the dry.(2002)

Thought I was going into miss-hit-miss too fast, and again lifted off at maybe 80mph went sideways but caught it [8D] (2003)

Popped out of the top of the Karrusell banking understeering straight for the Armco. (2002)

Span at Hohenrain last year 360+ in front of Barny.

I've been lucky not to hit anything I think [:s]

This is what my friend did to my old mk1 when he rolled it at Hohe Acht in 2003. It was taken to ring racing and stripped of all its worth. He learnt his lesson, spending 5 weeks at the krankenhouse with 3 cracked vertabrae.

I would highly recommend getting a roll cage fitted if you haven't already!

I remember it coming in to the carpark on the truck & thinking for a second it was my brother's Lhasa Mk1 (rear cage only) who was out on track. Sounded like a nasty crash, v.sobering.

    Yep, cage fitted...

The mk1 crash happened just a week after we were there. Scary stuff - I need to get a cage in my car really. [:$]
