Picked up the Polo today, good run back up the A68, what a smashing wee car, great fun and really put a smile on my face!
Is it a 6n2generation?, i had one for a year, good build quality in silver/bbs/surprisingly nice leather interior wi xenon headlights and 2" milltek - t'was a fun wee car when set up with decent sensible shocks and springs and polybushed, a proper little go-cart on b roads when the cam in but you did need to rev the bollox off it. I'd have another one in a shot but the diff rivets can give way, usually about 100,000 miles and it's not a cheap repair.....that could well be an idea for next years project, hunt around for a cheap but decent 6n2 gti with a dodgy gearbox.
Yeah it's a 6n2, 2000 on an X plate, full VAG/independant vw specialist service history, 2 owners from new totally standard, I love it already! Feel like I'm 17 again and just passed my test! A couple of wee jobs to be done on it, nothing major, wondow regulator and mirror loose on passenger side, cambelt and clutch done 10,000 miles ago, loads of reciepts, and got it for not very much money, happy days!
