288mm discs, calipers, carriers and pads from a Mk4 Golf: 29.99. Get in!!!!! Now all I have to do is like... fit them. *whistles* While we're there - any harm in fitting the front discs (I need hubs, I know) and running 5 stud steels on the front and 4 stud on the rear temporarily?
I think I made a mistake though. They don't come with hubs and used hubs aren't easy to find... Going rate is 30 each for new ones. I wonder if a scrappy would part with them...
WHAT A ****. He refunded my PayPal payment and sent me a message: "item is collection only as per previous email". It says in his description: "Collection is prefered on this item due to the weight but if you wish to arrange a courior at your own expense that will be fine". And the only email I sent to him was to ask how much it weighed, to which he replied: "the items are at work". WHAT. A. ****. What can I do? Obviously he wasn't pleased with the sale price (29.99 - the Buy it Now price was 69.99) and doesn't want to sell them.
I just reported him and then sent him this: I have contacted eBay and they will be taking the necessary action against you and your account for your breach of contract. By selling the item through eBay you are entering a legal contract with the buyer. By refusing payment and not sending the item you are in breach of the Seller Non-Performance Policy which could result in: Limits on account privileges; account suspension; selling fee adjustments; REFERRAL TO LAW ENFORCEMENT. I therefore suggest that you reply to this message in a timely manner with the combined weight of the items so that I can pay through PayPal (again) and arrange courier.
i use ebay to get rid of my junk in garage as over years i some how manged to get a double garage full of of parts...i mean to point wer i cant even park me cars in ther so tryin to clear my place out via ebay. Its not bad i suppose out of thousands of people selling & buying on ther you are gonna get the odd deal that goes wrong. "one mans junk is another mans gold" hope you get it sorted matey
Nice. I'm going to start checking eBay at 2:30AM when I get back from my pizza job to see if there any retards that posted their listing in the early hours of the morning. I'll just search for all car parts and see what's ending at the time. Bound to be a bargain or two there.
I had the day off yesterday and got something in the middle of the day for cheap, seems like the best times are in the wee hours of the morning and middle of the day.
This one was listed for a mk1 in the main heading, but he mentioned in the description it may be for a mk2 and that he'd bought it for a mk1 and it didn't fit his. So obviously there propably wasn't that many people looking on there for a mk1 one filter as there is a mk2 filter - so I asked for the part number, checked it out and got lucky. Also worthwhile searching for spelling mistakes too - you never know what turns up
Yes. [] UPDATE Its going to take me a good few days before I can get out and get it weighed. (I dont have access to any scales I'm afraid) once I have done that and got some bubble wrap etc I will send you a revised invoice which you can pay. Once you have the weight you can arrange a courier, therefore you will not need to pay me for the shipping but them directly. Let me know how you get on and we will need to arrange a convenient date. So as long as you are not in a hurry for them we can proceed. Regards How long does it take to weigh some brake discs? Why doesn't he just take his bathroom scales to work? Any suggestions? I think he's trying to palm me off.
This site searches ebay for all the possible mispellings of the item you were looking for. http://www.floodle.net/extra/ebayinfo/Misspellings.html Also you can just guess the weight of the discs, couriers never check, Ive worked for all the big companys (city link, lynx etc) Try this site http://www.parcel2go.com/ its brilliant.
Hello, Thank you for writing back with additional information in line with the email you received from "editmoronsnameoutforprivacyreasons" refusing to sell the brake calipers (item wheee) you won. As a fellow eBay member, I can certainly understand why this situation greatly concerns you. Let me reassure you that it's our top priority that eBay remains a safe and reputable place to shop. We've reviewed the eBay member(s) you've brought to our attention and taken the appropriate action. It's important to bear in mind that not all of the actions that we can take are visible to you or may not be visible immediately. However, let me assure you again that we've taken the necessary action. Breaches of eBay's policies can lead to consequences that range from issuing the seller an informational alert, a temporary suspension, an indefinite suspension or terminating the member's account. While I understand that you want to know exactly what action we took on the member's account, as it's important that eBay maintains member privacy, we won't be able to share these details with you. Furthermore, as the seller is refusing to sell the item, even though you won the auction, this is a breach of our Seller Non-Performance policy. Just as you are obliged to pay for an item you win, the seller is obliged to sell it to you. To read our policy, copy this link into a new browser window: http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/policies/seller-non-performance.html - Leave appropriate feedback for the seller If the seller has made it clear that they won't continue with the sale and isn't communicating with you, you can leave appropriate feedback for them to let other members know you had a bad experience with this member. Be clear and professional in your description of what you feel went wrong. If the seller should leave negative feedback for you in return, you should leave a polite response via the Feedback Forum. I hope this information is helpful in resolving this matter and that your eBay purchases run more smoothly in the future. Kind regards, Maggie Deakin eBay Trust & Safety
Well I'm not any good at guessing, so can someone experience please add up the following: - 288mm vented front discs - 2x calipers - 2x carriers - 2x brake pads - and, according to the ad, "enough Foliatec red caliper paint to paint them" How much paint... 4 litres? Might let him keep the paint actually to keep the cost down.
Well I bought a brand new set of Cavalier 288mm vented discs, pads, calipers, spigot rings and carriers, used http://www.postvan.com/uk/ and it came under the 35kg one (Express parcel heavy), which is 20.95 + VAT. I then weighed them when I was about to strip the car and was selling them on and they were around 25kg IIRC.
