Trackday at a wet Cadwell on Thursday. I was running wets, so was Stu in the Atom. I`ve known Stu for quite some time, he`s done loads of trackdays in his Atom and I`ve never been able to keep up. I`d had a short session behind him earlier, but I was exiting the pits with Gurds as my passenger and he came passed. Game on ! we had some great laps and this was a thoroughly enjoyable session ! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHlnwKtZy_Y Another session following Gurds in his MK1. He was only on road tyres and didn`t have grip anywhere near the level I did. Unfortunately, we weren`t as close as Rockingham. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SnbFeuf80FU
I did a 1.43 in the dry last summer, on ITB`s. I`d expect it to be quicker than that now. From Mansfield to braking for the left before the mountain, I gained 20mph compared to last summer and just under half a second on that short straight alone !. I lost all the time in the corners simply because it was wet.
Impressive times is that with the 4.2 final drive still or have you changed to 3.9? Asking as we are desperate to get our box done and carnt decide between the 2.... never used 5th yet at caddy with standard box, and at rockingham only use 4th gear once per lap on the long oval straight so no where near 5th...looking to lower lap times by a few seconds and gain some pull
Was with the 4.2 and shorter 5th. Now with 3.9. For N/A I`d whole heartedly recommend a 4.2 for a track car.
Cheers for that, pros outweight the cons then hay? maybe see you at caddy in a couple of weeks if ya there?
