I love the blue backlight in the mkIV. So whats a 1.8T like to drive then? Plenty of mid range poke. What do you clean your engine bay with? Fancy doing mine! ;) And whilst your at it the interior could do with a go as well [:*:]

P.S. the car looks sweet! :)

Engine hasnt been cleaned it was like that when i bought it.

Compared with the MK3 performance is effortless where as in the Mk3 all power is above 4.5k the Mk4 pulls from around 2k. very little if any turbo lag means very smooth power delivery [:^:] If anything maybe a little too quiet/smooth but a stainless system will sort that :)
Seats are sooo comfortable and supportive. Aircon, 4 airbags, good heater, and good standard sound system add to the experience.

    Thoroughly reccomended [:^:]

Jinx! I think we moved from Mk3's to Mk4's at the same time! Exactly the same comments about the diff between the 3 and the 4.

And as someone said, your cars always look spotless!

I've changed my DV and got an APR chip fitted, and at the moment i have a Dynatwist kit on mine but think it may be coming off [:s] Other than that, the car is standard - stereo doesn't need to change as the OE stuff is quality. I want to change the suspension at some point cos it is good for normal driving, but give it a bit of a roasting on a bumpy. twisty country road and you are on the edge of your very comfy, supportive Recaro seat [:D]

The APR is top notch, although being an early model ('99) it's a non-DBW (drive by wire - basically I have a throttle cable) and it doesn't chip as well... a DBW will go 207bhp+ but the non-dbw is anything from 180 to 190.... I got 185bhp and 217lb/ft on the 95RON setting... optimax is getting measured on 7 Dec

The Dynatwist, again the issue is cos it is an earlier car. It will go straight on to a later model, but on the early cars there is the ignition amplifier to relocate onto something to act as a heatshield... I just don't know what to do with it and can't find anyone with a picture to show me what they did. At the moment I have it cable tied out of the way but I need to sort that out so that it doesn't overheat. Apart from that, it's very good!

Mike20vt, so in real terms i.e day to day on road driving how does your extra 35BHP feel?

Best felt at low/mid or high revs?
    Fuel consumtion altered much?

    Cheers

    Ian.

Matt, they come as standard with a DV but it is a recirculating type, so it doesn't make the 'psssshttt' sound. That sort of noise is produced by an atmospheric type DV. If you want the noise then fit a CAI pipe like a Carbonio or Dynatwist. I know a couple of lads who've done this and it sounds pretty darn good!
