I bought it in 1987 and i'd sold it in 1989 to make way for a brand new Mk2 GTi, J-reg. Note the old style fog light position, roof bee sting aerial and the wolfsberg steering wheel I nabbed off a Mk1 rocco at the scrap yard. The grille was DIY (cut slats out to fit around motor-factor special cheap spot lights), and the side stripes were sprayed on by me. That latter pic of the tailgate looking good, was the result of ditching the old rotten one and painting it myself with rattle can including the black glass surround.
