mystery gearbox code

I've been offered a brand new gearbox which they think is for a Mk2 Golf GTI, trouble is i've never come accross the code before, anyone have any ideas what it's from
Code on bellhousing = 6W 9059
casting number = 020 301 103 AR

I have a mystery one too - not any kind of std. gearbox code, it's\just random numbers........ be interested if anyone knows what they are.

 

isn't 6W Scirocco? I think I have one in my garage.

 

Just maybe is a quaife six speed with a LSD of course!!

 

a 4T is a Scirocco.

That casting number is just a generic casing for some VW Transmissions.

Cant find a 6W
