without stated the obvious for the umpteenth time.

You should buys these nankangs, only if you need some tyres and cannot afford or justify buying a more expensive, but better quality tyre.End of!

I agree with Seraph. My brother had these on his map'd MK4 1.8t and they used to spin in the dry! [:s]

Wear rate was higher that had like to be but given the price on day to day driving, they can't be falted at!

Yes I briefly ran a pair on the front of a VR6
Even allowing for cheapness I don't think I'd do it again! Didn't really last very long. To their credit I don't think they weren't as bad as Yokohamas in the wet although I really do think the sale of Yokohamas should be made some sort of criminal offence.

I know its been said before but I really cant believe how bad the Yokos were in the wet. Seriously they were just criminally bad. With a pair on the back my Mk1 Cab it just spun everywhere, really lethal. I changed axle bushes, dampers, spring rates as the car would just spin straight towards the scenery. Change of tyres and its now its an understeery on the limit Golf again!

    Truly shocking.

Yokohama Advan HFRs were tremendous tyres twenty years ago for tarmac rally cars. Not any more.

If your on a tight budget go for Falken ZE512, not the greatest but good enough for the car. I've been running them on all four corners for approx 5K with no issues and no panics in the wet either.

You can pick them up very cheaply if you shop about.

    Have to agree with that.

Choice of tyres should reflect on how you drive your car. Like dubst16v I thrash my car around like a lunatic at times so I dont mind paying up to 80 a tyre for something that might save my from going wooooooooosh-TREE.

    Don`t do it.
I have a pair of almost new Pirellis P6000 on spare set of wheels for the VR.
So when I fitted the wheels and took it for a spin (literally:lol: ) they are absolutley 5hite in the wet, managed to spin it in every gear almost.

My other wheels and tyres have Michelin Pilots on btw and the difference is night and day.
