The dash mount is DIN spec so you have a wide range of options,I only use Blaupunkt head units as they are quality and I have only had one fail but it was well used and a very old model. Probably owned 10 of these headunits over many years,in my country it is easy to buy wiring looms conversion kits so you can plug into the factory under dash loom. Cheers.
Plenty of period blaupunkt around. eBay. Or Panasonic. If you are particularly flush the modern blaupunkt dab Bremen looks good but build not as good as vintage blaupunkt
I have a 1990 16v GTi and still have the original Panasonic radio cassette that came with the car. I’m based in essex, and happy to let it go

Nice. Particularly like the classic Bremen and the CD player that requires a cartridge. So cool. Love a company who names radios after cities.
