i'm in the fianl process of fitting a 2.0l 8v to my pb 8v golf 1990 but the g/box needs a new syncro init, now my mates are coming up with alternatives 1, rebuild it. 2, use a 16v as it has bigger diff but new clutch is required? unsure on that. 3, find a mk1 1.6 gti box for close ratio. 4, montego 1.6 is the same????? the new engine has new over sized pistons and lightened and balance crank gas flowed standard valve head a mo but will get tsr c pack so i've been told it'll be very torque. Which will be best i don't go on motor ways much and tend to use 2nd 3rd 4th when drivin hard
