Panels were obviously painted today, shell has been prepped for paint, stone guard was sprayed on outer of inner wings and about an inch and half up the sills, and rear valance was done up to bumper line so should give a nice finish once painted Tomorrow the engine bay, scuttle and roof will be painted, then Monday that leaves door shuts, rear quarters and rear valance to do, we think this gives a better finish rather than trying to paint the whole shell in one go, as gutter gives a nice edge to mask to, yes it's another days work but it's worth it!
Front subframe has been powder coated in brown but I'm not sure I'm happy with that! I may get it redone in black, but I still built it up this afternoon and will see how it looks on the car! Hopefully by next weekend will get doors tailgate and windows back in and can get it rolling, I can then get engine and box in and start sorting the plumbing and wiring Not sure on wheel choice but I'm thinking about some 15" compomotive MO's
Thanks Nige TBH this is a rush job and haven't spent a massive amount of time prepping this, but should look ok, no show winner just should be nice and subtle but go pretty well! Thanks, I do have some help, but we haven't done any customers cars for the last couple of days! but if we didn't do it it probably wouldn't get done!
I've also sourced a 6 point safety devices cage which should fit the bill perfectly, but think I will be adding harness bar and possibly extra boor bars
Thanks mate, at least the attention to detail isn't so mecticulious on this build compared to the red one! but I've got a couple of ideas to make it slightly different
Yes that is the one i was thinking of - This made me want to paint mine Nevada beige when i first got it about 6-7 years ago now
It's funny how you see cars looking good at shows but it's not until you see one being built up that you realise how good the colour choice is. Yours is starting to look pretty awesome. Well done.
