New brake lines

    I just replacing my brake lines and I was told they were 3/16.
    I bought 25m of copper pipe with the fittings but found that the fitting to the abs is larger than the rest?

    That's normally the case. A 13mm spanner rather than an 11.


    Also, if you haven't used the copper alr, return it and ask for kunifer/CuproNickel.

    It's still a 11mm but larger screw into abs

    Pipe looks same size as the 3/16 I bought but the black nut thread is larger.

    So just reuse the nut?

    if same pipe diameter and M12 nut you need part number 1H0611731A -> WHT000079 flange nut :) its 4.16+VAT, may be able to pick up cheaper from google/ebay using the part numbers

    alternatively pop into local scrappy and bag some, hacksaw the lines off near flush then you can get a proper 6 point socket on them so less chance of rounding off. be plenty mk4 to choose from
