    Hi all,

New-ish from Ireland, been a reader on here for a long long time but decided to fork out and join as i'm looking for a nice 90 spec 2 door mk2 in tornado red.

Have found a nice one here: http://www.clubgti.com/showthread.p...d-RE1-9-GTI-Engineering&highlight=tornado+mk2

but as i'm still new to the system i can't reply as yet so if anyone knows the car, any information on whether its still available and current condition would be very helpful as it seems a really nice car with an honest owner and history.

I've just done a deal to sell my current car (a very rare black 2001 Lancer Evolution TME) and have a long standing history with VAG i've had a soft spot for a nice MK2 for a while. I've got a mint condition 83 MK1 GTI which i've had for many years but could never bring myself to drive every day hence the search! I've had an anniversary MK4 GTI TDI in the past, and several MK2's, MK1's and most recently, just before the Evo, a white DSG MK5 with huge spec so looking forward to getting back into VAG ownership!!

The guy who's buying my car has previously bought a red TME from me and i've agreed to deliver the car this time as he came to collect last time, it should be a nice drive as he lives in Spain!! So if i could find something to buy on my way back from delivering the Evo to Spain it would work out nicely for everyone!!

Thats about it for now, i'll get some pictures of past motors up further down the road (when i figure out how!!).

    Thanks for any help!

    Mick.

    Welcome to Club GTI

That car looks a very good one, he's had it and long time and looks like its been looked after very well. At that price it's probably sold but well worth a phonecall just in case.

Thanks for the warm welcome folks, much appreciated.

Jamesa, that looks a reasonably nice car on your ebay link apart from the (typical) worn drivers bolster and am i wrong or is it missing the black "trim tape" around the tailgate? (EDIT: he actually mentions about the tailgate trim on the Ad! However...... I've also just noticed the paint all over the drivers door lock!)

Fasteddie, are you on one of the MK5 forms? I'm sure i recognise that user name!

I'll have a quick experiment to see if i can upload pictures so if you see a dead link, you know what I was up to!

Thank you, i've just posted a few more, hope they work just as well.

I bought that car from a guy in London who was only the (i think 3rd) owner on it, it has 96,000 miles all back up by previous MOT's etc so it was a real find. I had looked at several at the time and it was by far the most original and best kept golf i'd seen in many years! It only comes out for shows now as i'm terrified of someone damaging it!!

There is an Irish forum where these cars would go down very well.

Honestly with the clowns on the road over here, I'm terrified some idiot will hit the thing and i'd have to paint a door or quarter panel. The only thing worse than the drivers here are the body shops, trust me, it's better off where it is!! lol
