Just having a little look at the news on Aut trader, come across this. About time IMO http://www.autotrader.co.uk/EDITORIAL/CARS/news/VOLKSWAGEN/GOLF/34030.html
Guys have a look at this. http://www.autoblog.com/2007/04/23/in-south-africa-vw-citi-golf-gets-rated-r/
Yeah though there is only gonna be 100 of them. Wouldn't mind one R118,000 = 8300ish Postage would be a fair bit though
True, you could do, wonder what the import taxes would be, also getting it legal for use in this country, shouldn't be too hideous. Agreed about the lights, though they're an easy swap, do like the modernised interior, cup holders too
It does, though it can be filled, or if you're handy with a welder then a piece of sheet can be welded in there. Bob's the proverbial.
I think it looks like cheap cr4p which being made in SA, it is. Would much rather have a sorted orginal with aftermarket "real" brakes fitted.
Meow All these things can be changed. It's like starting with a brand new canvas, without the need for fixing up the body due to it 'being old' for lack of a better description. If i was living out in SA then i'd snap one up.
Just got back from Cape Town. There are thousands of the 1.6i citi golfs everwhere. The styling just doesn't look right bumbers, front grill back quarters. Still plenty of original Mk1 golfs and Jettas to keep you happy. Didn't see one 3 door golf whilst I was there. Some great roads with fantastic views and some nice wine. Spingboks are tasty little buggers too, no wonder lions chase them.
One of the really good features of the MkI Golf is, that without the bumpers, it looks great. If this had the front and rear valances, of the original, and best, it would be worth considering. BUT ONLY WITH 3 DOORS. HOW SAD THAT IT HAS 5 OF THEM!
