Thought you might like these pictures of what someone I know at The VDub dealership in Halifax. did to a new GTI. Hes had the P taken a bit since I think!!! HA HA!! _____________________ Pictures hosted by funkbaron Post edited by Crispy 8V
He put one of the legs under wrong. Because they have plastic sills the leg slipped and the car fell.
If that was my car I'd make sure the employee responsible lost his job! What would VW do in that situation? Offer the poor owner a new car?
The guy got a new car and they repaired the Knackered one. The guy didn't even get a proper b*llocking either I don't think.
I should bloody hope so. The chassis is stiff, but i certainly wouldnt want to risk any damage to it that may have incurred when it fell. I think id demand a new car if i saw it like that.
The car was supposedly fine on the 4 wheel aligner. Only damage was to the doors and glass. All in all i don't think the damage was that bad.
The ramps can lift a lot of weight when they are used properly. At my place we do transporters, touaregs etc no problem with those lifts.
accidents happen- but I'd say the blame was probably on insufficient training - hence why the guy wouldn't lose his job. I mean he may not have known this new car was different to every other car. Good job no-one was underneath it tbh!
But that is shocking! Even with a new car, that isn't the point. Surely something like this needs to be drawn to the attention of other people, i know i would never take my car into a dealership if that happened!
Things like that happen a lot, its just theres a lot of people with camera phones now, so we get to see the mistakes in all their glory! Oh well, I suppose its sort of funny so long as its not your car?
Did anyone see Prodrive's little sports car at the Autosport Show in Jab? Also fell off a lift apparently during the build. Needed jigging + a new corner....
Anybody want me to e-mail the pics so they can get them up on here??? I'm having problems with the photo hosting.
yes mail them to me and i'll host them - been waiting to see these......... barry.corke@btinternet.com
