    Hello all.

I have finally signed up and become a paid member after years reading through the forums having now actually got myself a Mk2 GTI.

First car was a 1973 Beetle 1200 (KKN 656L) at the age of 17 (18 years ago) moving onto various cars fairly frequently including a Clio 1.8 16V which I swapped for a 1983 Mk1 Golf 1.1 . This was closely followed by a 1991 Cav GSI and some questionable project cars! Fast forward 10 years of what could have been a longer and more boring intro than it already is… I have always been a VW/Audi kind of person and bought myself various VW/Audi’s but have now finally purchased a 1991 Golf GTI 8v which was fully functional until a friend gave me an ABF.

Now with the 8v engine out, the ABF half built and Throttle Bodies waiting to be bolted on (he says!!) I am currently refurbing the engine bay and all the suspension, wishbones, crossmembers etc so hopefully it will look and feel like new!

Hopefully I can start to post some progress, get the car running and attend some shows.

    Cheers all,
    James

Excellent stuff. What you're putting together personifies the spirit of CGTI.
