I have just bought my first Golf. its an 86 1.8 gti cabriolet what size/offset alloys will fit it????? any help or suggestions where to get em also pls Edited by: mk1cabriolet
Almost any size can be made to fit from 4x13 to 12x19, it just depends what you want, and how much bodywork you want left! What sort of look you after?
im just looking for something that will go straight on with no mods to bodywork, not really sure what im looking for as i dont know whats available or from where
Are you intending to lower the car? If you want an easy life, stick to 7x15 or smaller. It all depends what you want though! Have a look at the Mk1's on the member's cars section etc, to get an idea of what you could do!
its old skool like yours tris, on a d plate, thought of keeping standard looking but adding a set of alloys, maybe tsw razors, which ive seen for 299 for a set of 4. its a second car as i have a company laguna. What ice have u fitted tris, will any sub boxes fit in the boot, and what size speakers did u fit
keepin mine stock-ish. I like the old skool VW alloys... castelettes or estorils look smart. scala's also. ICE-wise, decided to hold fire on the sub, got standard size spkrs in at the mo... wouldn't want to drown out the nice noise from th exhaust
any chance of a few pics of recommended rims, not sure what the ones mentioned by people look like, bbs rims look good, what sorta money do they go for, anybody got any wheels for sale????? [/IMG] a bad picture of mine, gotta get the good camera sorted out
make sure whatever wheels you buy have enough clearance around the front brake caliper (i marked the inside of one of my alloys finding out they didn't clear the caliper) those are the standard alloys on mine
mine is helios blus and has standard alloys the same as yours, colour coded to car, are they easy to get re-furbed or polished. what have u done to yours
those are scala alloys, I think they suit cabbys well, maybe not colour coded though, bling 'em I've got Le Castellets on mine, although I may be selling them soon for something new...
