    hi :)

    i'm trying to do a bit of research into different engines fitted and that can be fitted into mk1 golfs.

    i have a 1990 h reg gti cabriolet and think i've sussed out that my car will be a k-jet, thing thats confusing me is all the talk of using 9a and 6a 2l engines to replace kr's[:s]

    now is this a different engine to the k-jet? or is it reffering to something else??

    thanks for your time

    TG :)

    KR = engine code for 1.8 16v so most Uk Mk2 valvers & 1.8 16vCorrados

    K jet = Bosch injection system as fitted to KR & early 8v Mk2s

    the Kr is the 1800 16V friom the Mk2 GTI. And K-jet is the injection system used on all the 16 valves up untill '92.
    9a and 6a's are 2L 16 valves from the Corrado, Passat and Audis.

    Later mk2 gtis run on digi injection. But not sure about the cabs, probably K-jet as you say.

    Beat me to it iguana!!!
