This is from about 1996, my 1.6 Driver was my pride and joy. It was one of those cars that I probably would have kept for a long time. It had Eibach coil-overs all round, all the usual mods at that time. Everything was going fine and dandy for about a year, until one night, when I had the promise of something fine, I rounded a corner way too fast, and hit a wall end on. Result one wrecked Mk2, the only straight panel was the back panel. Me off my work with broken breast bone, all the injuries that are common with not wearing your seatbelt. I was pig sick
woah!! thats looks nasty mate, at least you were ok though, guess you always were your seatbelt now though?! You were lucky you didnt go through the window!
Em, I did go through the window, I was stopped going out the car, by my mate, who was sitting behind me, who was also not wearing a belt, coming forward and pinning me against the steering wheel.
wow did well for no seatbelt. bet youre glad you can look back at it now. wreckless times eh? tsw stealth wheels?
My god.. was it acceptable to not wear a seat belt 12 years ago?! Or was it just youngness and stupidity? Glad you survived it though! Even if your car didn't. As they say "You can replace a car, but you can't replace a life."
woah, fair enough then mate, you got off pretty light there then. Glad you were ok. Had you been promised some poontang then? Was that why you were giving it the beans?
Yep, classics of that period. No it wasn't acceptable, and yes it was youngness and stupidity, I was in the Traffic at that time. Still paying for it, most folk can crack their fingers, I can crack my breast bone. And she was very nice indeed Thats why I harp on a bit about speed, first hand experience of what can go wrong, in the wrong circumstances.
did you still get to nob her then?! Did she come to the hospital? Now that would be cool! (sorry i'll leave now!)
^^ ha ha i was thinking that!!! lol..... quick hand job before the nurses came back round surely?? that driver looked lovely by the way!!!
Nah, never did see her again. But one of my ex's who was very nice, did visit me. The Driver was lovely, still one of the nicest Golf's I've had. It originally came from TSC's land, Enniskillin, I believe. I put the reg plate on another Golf, I had it was JIL9372.
That's why it tried to throw you through the window, TSC is a master of exiting mk2's via the windscreen
Seat belt not on blah blah blah. What I want to know is, and is the most important thing in this case, if you were on a promise, Why was your mate with you? Moral Support? Show you how its done?
