RS turbo was more of a 16v equivalent, I think. either way, regardless of oak green the availability of more reasonably priced ones would come down to build quality and chances of any being mint I would say! as I said, find me a mint one for sensible money, I bet its just as hard as finding a mint mk2 gti for sensible money, if not harder! Edited by: Jeff
Harder to find sometimes maybe. But it still doesnt change the fact that a Mk2 16v isnt a sports car, it isnt rare ... ... and it isnt worth that sort of money !
What do u think is a good price for a late Mk2 I payed 1350 for my old 90'spec 16v and apart from a tiny bit if rust on the bottom of the drivers door it was mint But it was Tornado Red and it really was red
so what do you suggest as an alternative for someone who wants to buy a car with similar performance, in as good condition, for less?
Nothing. If you want to spend that much on a 12-15 year old hatchback crack on ! I`d rather spend less on an earlier example (OMG, early ? you mean no p*ssy PAS) ...
I meant including newer cars, older cars, in fact anything that has the same performance and is in the same condition.
In that case ... ... an older 16v then. Funnily enough, the same performance. Same looks. Same car in fact. Only older and not laden with crap, non-functional air-con or crap PAS. And quite amazingly ... much cheaper. But OMG ... it doesnt have big bumpers or 90 spec trim. Edited by: superden
Give me a week or so and I bet I could. Are you paying for the fuel ? More importantly ... are you paying for the car.
at the end of the day they should not be worth so much...... But look at where we are posting on thats why they are "over priced" Like all old cars But i would rather spend 4k on a MK2 golf than buy say a new fiat panda for 6k or what ever they are Edited by: Mr.LaZy
It would have to be Vr'd and mint But thats not my point, do u think people asking 10k for Mk2 rs escorts is fair?
