Hi I have a vr6 obd1 (with coilpack engine) I have a 021 906 258 af ecu But i have a golf 3 vr6 obd2 engine wiring harness Does anyone have got some schematics to fit obd2 wiring harness into obd1 engine? Inviato dal mio SM-N9005 utilizzando Tapatalk
021906258af is 'middle' ISV type ecu, so that runs a coilpack plus 5/6 pin MAF. 'early' ISV ecu has a distributor, and 'late' ISV ecu runs a 4 pin MAF. converting a late motorised tb loom to isv type loom requires a fair bit of pin swapping and addition, so you have to be pretty desperate to do it! personally I would use the loom you have and get the right ecu to match

^^ All the 2.8 Golf 3/Passat 31/3A /Corrado engines were coded AAA. The control electronics did change 3 times between 91 and 98.
for the ecu you have you need a main engine bay harness with a 5 pin maf plug that does NOT have a 3 pin coilpack plug on it, plus the correct engine part to match so one with the coilpack plug on it plus an ISV plug and 3 pin TPS
theres the rub keep your eyes open on the classifieds, ebay, facebook groups etc. If you have a post-96 complete engine and wiring harness with the motorised throttle body though its probably easier to get the right ecu to match it all
as i say it is possible to convert the looms but its a lot of work, it took me best part of an evening to convert late ISV loom with 4 pin maf to post-96 electric throttle body type loom
For post August 95 Mk3s, you need ECU number #021906256 V02/04 ECU to match the loom. The ECU will need the immo to be switched off or married with the key/imo in car if fitted. You also need a water cooled 70mm VDO throttle module as the ECU controls the air adaptive at lower speeds. A 4 wire HFM 5 MAF The PCV system is also different coming into the bespoke plastic air duct.
