you could try Willfield motors in abercynon run by tommy, he's more a carb expert but im sure he can tell you how the car is running.

i think it would be better to try somewhere who knows about the oettingers, maybe TSR or GMS

tommy is good but is more of an old skool carb guy hehe

Rich, i am from Swansea also! I would love to see your car btw)

I have also been reccomended Willfield motors in abercynon!

It's a bit scarce down here on VW mechanics, there are a few very layed back ones as usuall :) One place is (can't remember the name now, i'll post it and the number when i get a chance)is in the enterprise park, past pound stretchers and take the first right!

Also for gereral mechanical work i use a great guy down in Ponlliuw! (very cheap and does not rip you off :)

Hey guys, I too am from Swansea!!!
What car is your oettinger lump in Rich?

I have a mate who is a VW Specialist - not sure of his knowledge of the oetinger lump but I do know one of his customers has one in a Mk2.
Not the best website, but his address and tel no are on it...http://www.swanseavw.com

Iwas going to say tsr but i mentioned tommy's as it's local & you could just do a power run to see how it is running before you start tinkering with it.

No worries mate - He said someone came in after I directed them to his website.
I should ask him for a "Finders Fee" for the customers I send him!

Andy is really knowledgable when it comes to the earlier Golfs. Without him, there is no way I would have been able to build my Mk1!

I have seen the Oettinger Mk2 there a couple of times...Goes well apparently...
