Well I was well chuffed to have all the interior back in my valver, just about to sort the offset steering rack out,and after turning the car round on my drive I decided to adjust the clutch as the clutch bite seemed way too high up the pedal.

So I tightened up the pedal, then a little more, then a little more, but the clutch bite was still way up the pedal.

So I tested it, I can rev the car to about 2000 revs and in gear, I dip the clutch put it in gear then raise the clutch. I can keep the car at 2000 revs and the car only just pulls and the handbrake can hold the car without the car pulling or stalling

Is the definately the clutch gone????

Yup, sounds like its shafted, dont go reving it to 2K that often to check its still gone as you may damage the fly wheel ;)

so I presume its the main clutch plate as theres no friction on the clutch to the flywheel

Anyone got any ideas on how much a clutch replacement is??

Hmmm, so you tightened up the pedal??

What do you mean exactly. If you mean you tightened the clutch cable adjustment until it pulled the pedal down, then you've basically tightened the cable way to far.

Loosen the cable until you get a few mm play at the gearbox end and see if that clutch works again.

If the pedal and bite point is too high then you are missing the plastic clip that holds the pedal in the right place.

If you are talking about the flywheel bolts, they are 9mm standard socket from any motor factor. But, yes, its the type that have 12 points.

Halfords tend to sell the correct ones nice and cheap.

Think harrys got it, you need more cable lenght to lower the bite point on the pedal.
