The oil light on my 8v tends to take a couple of seconds to go out when starting from cold. The pressure gauge (capilary feed) follows suit, but once there the pressure is spot on.

The car currently is fitted with a Unipart oil filter (not fitted by me, but I've never had any problems with them) and the oil is still nice and clean.

I'm guessing a genuine filter and cleaning out the pump pick up at the next service could help matters, or should I think about renewing the oil pump itself?

The car is 21 years old and has covered 86k, and I assume the pump has never been changed.

    Cheers
