Hi I've been contacted by Abridge VW in Loughton, Essex. Next weekend (17/18) they are launching the new Mk6 Golf. Alongside this, they would like a display of older Golfs in their showroom: Mk 1, Mk 2, Mk 3, Mk 4 and Mk 5. They would ideally like GTis, but as long as they are standard and will look good under spot lights! So can you help? The dealership will make sure each owner gets a pile of goodies. What they require: cars delivered Fri afternoon (if they need to be polished/valeted) or early Sat if sparkling! cars will need to be left for both Sat and Sun cars can be taken away after 3/4pm on Sunday, or 10 am Monday If you're interested, please email me with a photo (if possible) asap. I'll let the dealership choose then get back to you with contact details etc. Cheers Trev trevw [at] ltv-vwc.org.uk
Is this the kind of car they are looking for? Absolutely standard but recently mega restored. Loughton is about 60 miles from where I live but how do they expect cars to be clean on arrival this weather? They would start out clean but probably be filthy by the time of arrival. Do they provide a courtesey car if they were interested and I agreed, I need to get back to near Cambridge.
Yes, standard and in very good condition. They don't expect cars to be clean on arrival, which is why they're offering to valet them if they arrive on Friday. They approached our club as we're local. I will ask them about a courtesy car and let you know. Thanks for the photo your Golf looks very tidy
hornchurch dan (who doesnt post on here) has a minty mint mk3 8v, violet colour, a touch lowered but it looks the nuts. ill point him in this direction
dan can deliver on the mk3 front. he is popping into the dealer tonight to get some bits and will be mentioning it then im turning up too, in my not so standard mk3
Teddy, thanks I'll talk to the dealer about yours. Matt82 Dan will have to ask for Ashley and show him his Golf. The dealer has another couple to choose from including Teddy's and one from our club, so we'll get back to you/Dan. Thanks guys any Mk4s or Mk1s?
Ben, I can see you are envious hahaha, if you would like a horseshoe I will send you one. Actually it is off my little Arab mare who I have owned for 28 years and she's still divvy. It's just a personal touch.
Brookster your Golf is beautiful, but the dealer said it's a little too modified (even with bonnet down) for their use. Sorry, thanks anyway. Still looking for a Mk1 and Mk2 don't have to be GTis
