I was running a few different things through elephant last night to see what difference it made to my insurance. FIrst of all i changed to a MK3 VR6 to find that they wanted an extra 4.34 (3.50 of which is postage charges!!!), yet a VR6 Highline has no change whatsoever! Then decided to put through a GTI G60 and found that i'd get a 60 odd refund, and a Rallye would get me a 25 refund!! Not exactly what i was expecting to see!! Now, where's that gorgeous black Rallye i've seen for 4200 then........ I've wanted one of these for a while, but didn't consider it to be an option as elephant wouldn't insure a MK2 VR6...... oh why did i look.....
Really, would a Rallye be a better idea for me?? Probably not, but it's another one to look out for ain't it!!
And was you're great uncle huh Mk2 VR6 is a modifed car whereas a Rallye isn't. Which explains the odd insurance.
it explains why they'd insure the Rallye and not the MK2 VR yes, but not why the MK3 Highline is cheaper than the "normal" VR6 and why they are both more than the LHD Rallye and G60.......
