RS500 had a T4 turbo and the option of 8 injectors, from factory they were the same power as the regular 'cossie' 3dr.

If you pair are still fighting, Bill you might find these useful.

Rob, I'm not sure there's anything in this world that could dent Bill's lumber jack shirts though:lol:

Here's a question for you then (talking superchargers now)

If i run a stand alone oil feed for my supercharger (charger not heated by engine oil anymore) and a large front mount intercooler on my G40 will my intake temps be too low??

Every post has been about turbo applications so far where I/C is a must due to the turbo being bolted to the exhaust system and driven by the exhaust gases therefore a lot more heat needs to be delt with compared to a charger

    Any ideas??

Correct now your getting there.. ;)
Is my engine normal? is it different in spec? - yes.

Will my engine run on a stock IC? no
Did it run better (intercooling wise) with the charge cooler I had one next? yes
Did the CC heatsoak on track use? yes
Did the next FMIC (smaller core posted) support track use better for heatsoak & recovery? yes BUT it also had too much pressure drop for the flowrate of air thru it. (working the turbo harder!)
Did the larger FMIC core (larger core picture posted) flow more air and run cooler on induction temps? yes
Did the larger FMIC core have less p-drop than the small FMIC I ran? yes

The FMIC cores were flow benched, and the larger flowed more than the smaller one... for the same pressure drop. ;)

The statement of big will give you more pressure drop is so subjective to the application its untrue.

Going back to the statement from tt which is so true.. chosing the RIGHT size is important.

On my setup, the right setup is what I now have.

How much of the heat from the SC is from its oil feed tho? as opposed physical mechanical fiction and compression of air.. which is pulley/rpm determined.

turbo being bolted to exhaust is'nt the heat contributor.. the compressor side is on the intake end of the turbo not direct on exhaust. Compresion and boost levels are the dominant heat source.

what boost does your SC run at and what are you intake temps like?

    The penny is finally dropping..
different engine spec... so different requirements needed.

this place seems more like Vortex every day [:^(]

0.8bar boost (larger T/B and inlet manifold fitted aiding flow, would be 1.1bar otherwise), as of yet i haven't got the stand alone oil feed kit but the FMIC is in place.

I've not measured the intake temp as i'm on the lookout for an all-in-one boost, inlet temp and air/fuel ratio gauge/module

Heres a pic of the FMIC i had adapted from turbo application to suit my charger

Bill as a matter of interest how did you measure the Pd across the IC?

    stop the b8tching please [:^(]

i'm interested in the SC application too, running similar set up to LregG.

or should i stop worrying about it and just run the sprinter van cooler like every one tells me too. [:s]

Done by the guy who made the cores on his flowbench.

As in compression of the intake charge DUH!

very informative post.. well done
i'm out of here... you are a complete waste of time

Ok, i'll go look up some compressor specs and see if i can find the 'boost levels' of them ;)

You should twin this topic with the 2l 16v one in the Engines Forum..
