I have a mk3 gti 8V that overnight has stopped working. The car turns over fine but won’t fire up!
Going through all the common issues I have so far replaced:
    Distributor cap / rotor arm
    Ht leads
    Coil pack
    Spark plugs
    Crank sensor
After replacing these and testing for spark it only sparked once out the coil which many people were saying imob issue, it was throwing up P1570 fault code on vagcom. I proceeded to get an imob delete on my ECU and still no start ?
    Getting Pulse from dizzy.
Fuel pump / pressure is no problem.
    Air all good.
What do I start to look at now?
Any help would be highly appreciated as I’m stuck right now.

Did you try a squirt of Easi Start?

    Hi Tristan,
I have not tried this, it has no spark at the plugs so I feel like this isn’t going to do anything ? Worth a try though

Have you checked the wiring to the coil etc? It seems you have thrown a lot of parts at it but not actually diagnosed anything

I have checked the plug to the coil, this is fine. Like I said it was sparking once on ignition and I assumed this was due to imob. Have checked the wiring for the hall sensor this also has an earth, live & pulse.

How would you go about diagnosing if it was a wiring issue? Also I haven’t got the best knowledge on these cars / engines, is there any common faults with maybe wiring or relays I’ve missed out on?

If it was an immo fault it would start and stop after about 3-5 secs.

I had an ignition switch fail on my old mk3 8v GTI check fuse 15 (10a red) for good power when key on.
