Hi My Mk1 GTi is painted Mars Red Does any member have the paint code please. Also the wheels which I am told are the ‘Tarantula’ design are presently painted/powder coated a darkish grey. Is this the correct colour? Any assistance very much appreciated
There are 2 shades of Mars Red, L31B up to late 1980 and LA3A for then onwards. Wheels are L091 chrome coloured metallic. You may have a sticker somewhere on the shell for paint code, possibly inside cover of service book if you still have one. VW still do later shade of Mars red which comes in either 150ml spray can at 7.66+VAT or 9ml touch up stick at 6.67. Also have wheel paint which comes in 150ml spay can same price or 400ml tin
