For the early 90's Passat GT, they came with 1.8 16V and then a 2.0 16V. Do these have different engine codes and if so does it say it on the block anywhere? Cheers
Early 1.8 is a KR, later 2.0 is a 9A, even later ones were ABF's. The engine no. is stamped on the front of the block between cylinders 3 and 4. Can be a bit tricky to see. They also have the capacity cast into the back of the block in big letters so that the easiest thing to look for. It's at the bottom left of the back of the block. Joe
