Thinking of buying one as a donor for a new project. I want a 9A engine, wide track wishbones, etc. What year should I be looking for? What gearbox did they put in them?

    Cheers
Has anyone followed a similar route with this? I understand whats involved with the engine & gearbox change. Anyone experience with the wider wishbones/driveshafts etc?

The early GT passat was an 8V then they moved to KR 1.8 16v then post 1990 9A 2.0 16v, get the boy to check the V5 it will tell you the engine code there.... :p
