I probably should know the answer to this but anyway....I've replaced the head unit in our passat for an alpine aftermarket job and now the radio reception is terrible....any ideas I'm assuming without removing the radio that its something to do with not wiring up the antenna amplifier? TIA
mine is plugged in properly in my leon with an alpine head unit and the signil is really not good, even struggles with radio one, how bad is yours?
Check your new headunit has a +12v feed out to the aerial amplifier. Can't remember exactly which pin it's meant to go out too now.
You need one of these: http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/iso-active-aerial-adaptor.html OEM VW headunits have an aerial booster in them, You have just removed it so need to put this one in. If you want one quick i got my last one from western car radio in Bristol
