    Hi,

Ive fitted a new PD150 engine to my PD150 golf and despite it seeming to run fine i'm getting blue smoke out the back from start up that goes away completely once warm.

Can anyone advise as to possible causes? Im reluctant to jump to the conclusion of piston rings or valve stem oil seals as it was in good working order prior to removal from the previous car.

To note, It seems to start and run fine although i'm dubious of one I/C clip so could be a very minor boost leak.
Turbo sounds quite loud but i have fitted a decat.
The inlet pipe did pop off the turbo on the first run but i don't think that could have killed the turbo.
I did literally nothing to prime the fuel rail when starting it the first time, it just started.
Could an injector cause blue smoke?

    Thanks

FYI after 2000 miles the smoke has gone. Must have got something in the inlet upon rebuild! Fingers crossed thats the end of that
