    Whats the script with insurance?

Do you have a main car and a second car on a limited milage/classic policy?

Different/same insurance company for both cars?

Is a MK2 Golf considered a classic by insurance companys?

Talk to HIC. People will moan about their telephone service, but their enthusiast policies for second cars are excellent. I was paying about 180/year TPFT for my mucked about with 1275 Mini.

main cars have normal insurance, 'second' is as second car (No Claims Bonus matched)

the MK 2 may be classed at Classic with some companies, but it would have to be standard & mint [:s]

I am paying a few hundred quid (can't remember how much, I honestly can't) for an 8V GTI to use every day, and about one or two hundred quid (stupidly cheap) for my 16V on a limited mileage policy.

My boyfriend has two policys from two different companies.

Astra Sxi main policy with HIC

Mk2 Escort Mexico - Lancaster Insurance Services -Second Policy 160 per year. Limited Millage, agreed value etc..

He is 24 and second policy is with no NCB.

He also has a Nova SR, Astra GTE 8v and a tropper for off road.

But none of them insured - trying to sell the nova & gte to get cash 4 building a house!

ive got the mk1 on a classic policy with heritage its git suspension mods and big brakes standard engine

mods were no problem 5000 miles per year and an agreed value of 1800 includes CGTI trackday cover and cover abroad must be garaged at night

    180

cant argue very good iD reccomend them theyll cover the mk2 as well but I need it for more than 5000 miles

if its over 10/15 years old its worth trying the classic route

HIC are cool with my cars so here we go this is how my policy works.

I have the main policy with the Vr6 then the White mkII is old enought to classify for classic car policy. The cabbie has its own policy but HIC mirrored my no claims from the VR6 on to that one and once I get the black MkII on the road I'm sure they'll mirror my no claims on to that one as well . Also I have limited milage on all of them and that way my premium is kept low [:D]

If you go with HIC you can have any many mods on it as you want I had my white one with all mods declared on a classic car policy all that mattered was that the car was 15 years or older :)

I have the rallye insured with greenlight (I know, waste of money! long story though) and the scirocco on a classic policy with HIC - being a classic policy they told me I dont get any NCB on that one, but its cheap enough anyway.
