if you were a real mate you would tell her to buy a lupo or polo

don't ever buy a pug! gf got 206 and it's crap, it's had
    new centre section
    new back box,
seized water pump resulting in snapped timing belt!
    brake recall
    been broken in to
    body dents too easily
paint has come off front bumper
    brake lights keep jamming on
it's useless and everytime we go to sell it something else goes wrong and we spend more money on it and it's only got 30k miles! [:^(]

to sum up PUGS ARE CRAP [:x]

my mom-in-law had her clutch changed today on her '97 1.1 106, the thrust bearing had collapsed and broke a couple of pressure plate fingers too, and after only 48k miles!!! that can't be good!!
my mother's '98 106's key immobiliser keeps failing too, there have been other probs too

My missus has an `02 plate 106 and its never let her down once in 25k :)

There are a few issues with poor trim fitting but nothing major.

Also it suffers from erratic idling (i.e revs its nuts off for no reason on occasion) but this is a common 106 problem.

my ex had one...was fine until about 60k then started falling apart...quite literally, started with bits aflling off the interior. she also was a very slow and careful driver, so if you drive harder it'll break quicker.

a mkIV or mkV polo's a better idea really.
