    that's the worst photoshop ever

the W12 engine is a lot bigger than that, I know as I've driven a pheaton W12 and even in the pheaton engine bay it's a big lump

In the VR6 the angle is only 15 degrees to reduce size and allowing one head instead of two as in a traditional V-motor. The R in VR stands for Rheinheitsmotor, basically meaning in-line, so VR6 translates as in-line vee six.
The W12 is two of these side by side (sharing a common crank) hence W.
The reason you only see two banks of six inlets is the same reason there only seems to be one bank on a VR6; there`s only one head! Three of the inlet ports pass between the other three.
    Top down view of VR6:

Other types of W-engines from the past have used three banks of cyliders on a common crank. I used to work on aircon compressors that were a W9 configuration, ie, three banks of three cylinders.
Three bank Napier W12 from Napier Lion Race car from the 1910`s-20`s

Hope that makes sense to you![:-B]

If you could get hold of a W12 then I'm sure it could be made to fit but you'd either be sitting infront of it or have to move the dash back the entend the chassis rails forwards (and possibly out).

If someone want to fund such a mad project I'd certainly have a crack at it.

AFAIK there are NO secondhand W12s. They were really unpopular, and sold hardly any new cars as it is. And all the existing cars are still with their original owners.
