Think there was a thread about these cars a while back, can't be ar*ed finding it so thought I'd post these pics in a new thread. I went to look at this car about 18 months ago up in Stockton-on-Tees. Standard spec included Rallye grille & headlamps, air-con, electric windows & mirrors, two-tone dash (black upper, grey lower), grey carpets, velour upholstery, 'open' headrests, door-pockets lined with velour(!), uprated cooling system, hi-spec alarm system. Engine is a 1.8l K-Jet. Probably lots more detail spec that I missed. Was a bit gutted as I was hoping it'd be the 2.0 16v CLi ... Andy
When i was looking for my 1st gti a few years back i saw a mk2 golf SA import in that colour. It has full black leather, air-con, leccy everything and was a 16v....was at a good price too, but insurance was more than the car would cost [:^(]
Why? jettas handle better than golfs and Mk2 Jettas were slightly quicker than the equivalent Golf due to them being more aerodynamic.
i think jettas look better, and seem to handle better, but to be honest i'd rather drive a golf. There ya go.
I can see a split in opinions here I think its clear which I prefer... TBH the main reason I bought a Vento is to be different. Everywhere I look I see a golf - they are outnumbering fords in some places. At the end of the day it's down to personal preference and taste as with all things. Oh yeah and the big boot comes in very useful very often....
Except mine, the boot floor is at least 4 inches higher tha my old car because of the 4Motion! Nowhere near as big . I can think of about 10 reasons to go for a Bora over a Golf, but then I dont like MK4 Golfs - wasnt an option for me! Anyway I personally think it depends on the MK as to whether I prefer the Golf or the 4dr of the time. On topic thats def an interesting Jetta, I like the Rallye front but the wheels and the headrests have got to go. Hate loopy ones on the Bora too, soo ugly. Edited by: Mikedav
