Hello I have a problem with my pierburg 2e2.
I have borrowed this picture ,this part that i marked in red doesn't get any voltage on it's terminal's.
As far as I know this part controls 3/4 unit that control's the idle.
Before when my engine is below 2000 rpms I would have 12v here and 3/4 unit would hold the throtle at idle possition and when engine is over 2000rpms there shouldn't be voltage therefore 3/4 unit will have it's piston retracted.
My question is what controls when there is voltage or not.

Thank you for your reply it was really helpful I have managed to make temp fix for this problem.
I have found out that my rely is working properly because it controls cut-off valve by breaking ground to it and my problem is that I don't have +12 on other terminal.
Do you know from where it get's +12v because i have checked my fuse box and I can't find any bad fuse.
Btw I have CE1 in my golf.
Where did you get this pictures and text from above I didn't see it never before?

    Best Regards,
    Nuki

Not sure on the CE1 fusebox source of that 12V, but if you look in the Electrical sub-forum, there is a sticky post by rubjonny that has all that sort of info.

My info is from here: http://www.volkspage.net/technik/ssp/ssp/SSP_59.PDF

Edit: well an English language hard-copy of that from Ebay to be precise.

You're very welcome. This is probably useful to you also (I'd forgotten that I'd also scanned this one):

12V supplied via fuse 17 and pin D2 (I think, focus not great) at rear of fusebox. Sometimes the wire breaks in the engine bay.

Before this problem occurred I have had removed my carb to clean contact below electric heater on the carb because I had minor problems with carb freezing and strange thing is that after I have refitted carb everything was working as it should be and in the morning I didn't had that +12v.
For now I have temp solution with bridged wire but soon I will have to check fuses again and wiring under the bonnet.
