Hi i have a problem right now and im running out of ideas. Engine starts very rich when coldin the morning only. It sounds like its misfiring lots of vibrations in car and black smoke. This lasts for about 30seconds than it works like a dream. Pull down unit working. Auto choke is new and heater working (tested) i blew carb cleaner in the vacuum tube for pull down unit to clear it. New base flange and gaskets and mixture screw is set about 4 turns out. What could be the problem any ideas ?
might be worth double checkign the autochoke is fitted correctly, on the 2e2 at least there is an alignment marker on it you need to line up with the carb body. can you get someone to fire it from cold with the airbox off so you can watch what the choke flap does?
