hi guys, new to carbs, so please excuse my ignorance, i don't even know where to start learning about them. all this waxstat and carb icing just confuses me. my fried has takent the engine from my jetta. some sort of 1.8 bottom end, unknown head and pierberg carb. and put it in his 1.3. he's convinced the wiring is the same. i am doubtful. does anyone know? i just need to identify the carb to start with, can anyone help. thanks!
Pierburg 28/30 2E2. Not sure about the wiring that he'll have on his 1.3, I've just got my hands on a secondhand 2e3 carb off a 1.3 (cheers ocky!), but i haven't unpacked it yet, so I don't know what electrical bits are the same/different.
thanks EZ Pete. so i can read the FAQ and get upto date on the 2e2 then! we robbed the loom for the carb etc off the jetta anyway just in case. is the fuel system ok not to be changed? we think the yellow jetta was a 1.3 before anyway. so it might be ok! ive got a cam off a 2E 2.0 8v MK3 Gti engine is that any good for this setup?
