Not sure this is the right place for this, but I will ask anyway. One of my students, here in Portugal, has a 1993 VW Polo G40. She has owned it from brand new, it has a full main dealer (original supplier) history, and very low mileage (not sure what it is) The car has only been used around the town for the last four years, since her huband has died. (going shopping that sort of thing) She has been offered 1500 (about 1000) for it and thinks she might let it go. Now the question, how much is it worth? Is it worth having? What problems should I look for?
1000 over here is pretty cheap for a G40 to be honest, don't know what prices are like on the continent though. It also depends on what condition this one is, when the charger was last rebuilt etc etc. You might be better asking on www.clubpolo.co.uk
for a grand and it is mint i would def buy it, but as said before. not sure what prices are on the continent. are nice cars though
A G for A G....got to be worth it surely??? If oil is changed regulary, not over thrashed when cold, the car could be an absolute steal. Even bring it back to the UK & sell here!!!! Reliability......only an issue if the car has seen the red line all it's life. My 1st G was completley original, had done 112K, mature owner and was never any trouble. BUY BUY BUY BUY
