    try clubpolo.co.uk

all the usual stuff ...bike carbs, or a 1400 bottom end if you want to go that far

    simple easy bolt on mods?

swap the manifold for a G40 item, the GT's sells for more too ;)

Chip em. good bit of port and polish on the TB.

not really much point going too mad on it...

whats the options for engine swap? such as newer polo gti engine 1.6 or similar?

Fit a 1.4 ABD bottom end from a mk3 golf. fits straight on.

    Full exhaust system
    chip
ported & polished head & enlarged inlet manifold.
    Cam
Mk2 Golf Gti AFM (requires some setting up).
    Air Filter
Larger throttle body (from a 1.8 mk3 golf or summit similar)

You can also put uprated injectors in when you get to bigger power.

Those mods would see a right little rip-snorter! I had a GT with only a couple of mods, went like f-k for a 1300.

i hope you are taking the ****. who the hell would repsond to that ad!?

lately on clubpolo and polo3 prices of GTs have been going through the roof. People paying circa 1200-1500 for mildly modified spec GTs.... you can buy a average condition G40 now for that kinda money. Bizarely and IMO wrongly people are buying G40s just to break to sell the engines to people with GTs.

The GT is a fantastic little toy, the 1.3 puts out 75hp standard and is surprisingly quick due to the close ratio gearboxes they come with but with some tweaking 95hp is within reach. there are guys running over 100hp from 1.3 with no charger!!!

As already mentioned exhausts an air filters and head work/cams are all available . on ClubPolo there is also a guy selling Chips which add a good 7hp an provide a noticable difference combined with other mods. As a rough guide a polo gt with a performance exhaust and air filter comfortably kept up with a 1.8 driver with "with a cam":p

a fully stripped out one would make a hell of a sprint car..... gives me ideas... although a mk2 polo coupe would be more my styllleeee
