Polo GTi 1.6 fuel economy?

Hi im new here and am considering buying a Polo GTi 1.6 16v,im wondering if anyone could tell me roughly how many miles they get out of a full tank of fuel?

Im hoping these figures are going to finally convince me that im doing the right thing!

Yeah, ive read about their amazing gearboxes! But coming from the Fiat Coupe 20v Turbo i currently drive im not scared of maintanence costs and expensive things going wrong!

A mate's wife has one on coilovers. It drives really nice! Reminds me of my old mk1.
He reckons his Mrs gets approx 300 miles out of a 45 tank, but said he'll confirm shortly.

They had the gearbox issue, but had an aftermarket warranty/aa cover type thingy, which paid out for a reconditioned gearbox to be supplied and fitted with a 12month warranty. Not bad.

All I know is that it's better than the 1.4 16v by far!
Our 2001 1.6gti 16v goes particularly well with half decent mpg.
