polo key cut

    heelo just asking a question for a mate about a key cut for a 1.4L 1996 POLO. we got a price for a local key cutter of 35 pound for the key and he said some rubbish about a chip in it and if the chip aint in it then the car wont start is that right or is he talking out of his ass?

    he's not talking rubbish at all
    your cars immobiliser reads a security code via a chip in your key or your car wont start

    35 quid is pretty cheap for a chipped key. The dealer price is nearer 80.

    Main dealer price for the key is 50. The charge to have it coded to the car is around 40.
