Not a good start with my "new" Polo, the enginemanagement light came on today on the way home, flashing constantly.

    Seemed to drive ok though.

I've a cable/laptop so want to at least try and check the error codes if any before I take it back to the garage - anyone know where the port is, had a look tonight but it's dark so couldn't see it in the usual places like under the gearbox trim etc.

Oh and behind the driver's door isn't the first place you'd think to look for fuses....

    It'a 2003 1.9 TDI.

Took the ashtray liner out and it's not there?

Couldn't see how the rest would come out easily.

on the mk4 its a black plastic cover above the ash try
on a tt it was in the glove box(i think)

    Sure does
Cr@ppy little job too - those switches are too easy to break.

well that was the obverse place!

looks like they've finally sorted the brake light switch, it's now got a beetle number & doesn't need a PHD to set up!
