    Parked up next to my Driver yesterday was a Polo with a boot. It was a P-reg and huge (for a Polo).

    I've always thought Polos were too small, but I really liked the looks of this one. And by next year, I'll prob be looking for a daily driver (with a few mod cons).

    So without me having to find a Polo forum and show my ignorance, can someone tell me a bit more about the P-reg model, what options/cost/insurance/diesel/petrol and anything else interesting.

    And maybe a few photos?

    TIA

    Basically the same car as a cordoba too.

    Why dont you look into the SEAT Cordoba SX with the 1.6 engine Stella? They are very nice, and a bit cheaper to run than my 2.0 16v SX version.

    It's prob something I should consider, Luke.

    I'll be keeping my Golf but would still like something with a VW badge on it. As I can't really prob afford something like a Mk4 Golf, then this pretty Polo seemed like an ideal compromise.

    Might be tempted by driving a Seat, though. The Leon Cupra I went out in last year was rather nice, though didn't handle as well as the Mk5 Golf, but I'll not really be looking for performance so much as economy and reliability.

    I've only ever seen the Polo saloons with 5 doors and the Seats with 3, so that may be something to consider, especially if you have children.

    Used to own a Cordoba, the vast majority have 5 doors. Only ever seen a 3 door once or twice. They tend to be the higher spec models like Luke's.
    Never seen a 3 door polo saloon. Don't think they made them.

    All Cordoba SX, 1.6 and 2.0 16v are the 2 door coupe variety. The Cordoba GTI was a 4 door, as are the rest of the models. Not sure which Polo models came with the 2/3 door option if any though.

    Stella,

    Iknow you didn't want to find another forum but;

    If you are lookin around t'interweb, have a look at www.clubpolo.co.uk

    Plenty of info there, the users over there call them "loons"

    Might even be able to bag yourself a bargain!!!

    Never heard them called Loons! :lol: There a good buy as there a little unwanted as VW's go, a mint one sold through our place for about 2k less than the equivalent aged hatchback polo would have done.
